Before the sacred pages
were gathered into one,
the Gospel was proclaimed aloud
where Christ’s Church had begun.
The Apostles shared His teachings,
the wonders they had seen;
they preached the faith entrusted to them,
preserving all He taught.
Many things were spoken,
many signs were shown;
not every act of Jesus
was written down and known.
Yet all He gave His people
was faithfully preserved,
through those He chose and sent forth
to teach His saving Word.
