“I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He shall crush your head, and you shall strike His heel.” Genesis 3:15
“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign. Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14
Verse 1
When darkness entered Eden
and sin had pierced the earth,
the Lord revealed a promise
that would bring new birth.
A Woman would be chosen,
her offspring would prevail;
the serpent’s ancient kingdom
would ultimately fail.
Before the years unfolded,
before the prophets came,
God spoke of His redemption
and called her into His plan.
The Woman and her offspring,
united in God’s plan,
would stand against the serpent
and overcome his reign.
Pre-Chorus
Through every generation,
the promise still remained;
the hope of our salvation
through God’s eternal Name.
Chorus
O Woman promised in Eden,
chosen before the ages began;
through your humble “yes” to Heaven,
God fulfilled His saving plan.
Blessed among all women,
chosen by God’s own hand;
through you came Christ our Savior,
Redeemer of every land.
Verse 2
The prophets kept announcing
what God had long prepared;
a Virgin would conceive a Son,
the world would be repaired.
Not by human power,
nor by earthly might,
but by the Holy Spirit
would come the world’s true Light.
The centuries kept waiting,
the promise drawing near;
until the angel Gabriel
brought Heaven’s message clear.
“Hail, full of grace,” he told her,
“The Lord is now with thee;”
and Heaven waited silently
for her humility.
Pre-Chorus
The Father had prepared her,
the Spirit filled her soul;
the Son would take His human flesh
to make creation whole.
Chorus
O Woman promised in Eden,
chosen before the ages began;
through your humble “yes” to Heaven,
God fulfilled His saving plan.
Blessed among all women,
chosen by God’s own hand;
through you came Christ our Savior,
Redeemer of every land.
Bridge
Let it be done according
to the Father’s holy Word;
the servant of the Lord replied,
and Heaven’s voice was heard.
The promise made in Eden
was shining forth at last;
the shadows of the old covenant
were finally surpassed.
The Virgin and her offspring,
foretold so long before,
revealed the path of mercy
and opened Heaven’s door.
Final Chorus
O Woman promised in Eden,
chosen before the ages began;
through your humble “yes” to Heaven,
God fulfilled His saving plan.
Blessed among all women,
all generations proclaim;
the wonders of God’s mercy,
and the glory of His Name.
Through you came Christ our Savior,
the Lamb who set us free;
the promise long awaited,
fulfilled for all to see.
All honor to the Father,
the Son, and Spirit eternally;
one God forever worshiped
through all eternity.
