We saw a rabbit under the bed
Lying there plain as day
Stankin up the whole bedroom
Made my supper run away
It was rotten, it was stinkin'
Made my eyes roll back in my head
I stepped back from that little scene
That dead rabbit under the bed
I bent over, took one look
Oh, that was definitely all it took
Warren yelled, "You all right?"
I said, "No, sir, not tonight"
Rabbit Rabbit ole dead Rabbit
It's not as if we didn't care
Cause thru all of that grotesque encounter
We laughed right through that stink filled air
Oh Fiona, why'd you do it
Bringin ole dead coney in the house?
Couldn't you just have brought a bird
Or maybe a lizard or a mouse?
It was bad, but got so funny
And didn't seem to cause despair
Cause me and Robbie doubled over
Laughin' at that hare in there!
Rabbit Rabbit ole dead Rabbit
It's not as if we didn't care
Cause thru all of that grotesque encounter
We laughed right through that stink filled air
Now every time I think of it
I cover up my nose
But I still grin at how that day
It grew a life all It's own
Something awful, something silly
That dead hare still knows my name
One dead rabbit, one funny memory
And our story's still the same
Rabbit Rabbit ole dead Rabbit
It's not as if we didn't care
Cause thru all of that grotesque encounter
We laughed right through that stink filled air
