One night out fishin in Claremore lake
While Stan was havin his fun
I sat in the boat and I watched the moon
And My fun had only begun
We were down by the booey
in the pitch black night
not too far off from the bank
And that's where it happened
Where the fun all started
That's when my little heart sank
I started to panic, I wanted to scream
So I let out a great big yell
Stan said, "QUIET!"
But I hollered again
Cause, gosh darn it, I just couldn't tell.
This was eerie, a little spooky
Was it a ghost or maybe some witches?
What ever was happenin,
It scared me straight up
And I just about wet my dang britches
Stan started laughin
he knew what was there
He knew what was happenin
But he just didn't care
Booey Bats by the banks on the back of the beautiful CLAREMORE LAKE
They were landin on my shoulder
Had to do a double take
Were they real?
Were they fake?
Stan said, "Deb, for Heaven's sake
They're just Booey Bats by the banks on the back of the beautiful CLAREMORE LAKE!"
I fell down and hid
in the bottom of the boat
And then I laid there and shook
One bat on my shoulder in the Oklahoma night
Was definitely all that it took
Never ever goin back, to the bats in the night
Now that would be a huge mistake
I'd have to jump in. Wouldn't that be a sight?
In the waters of the Claremore Lake
Booey Bats by the banks on the back of the beautiful CLAREMORE LAKE
They were landin on my shoulder
Had to do a double take
Were they real?
Were they fake?
Stan said, "Deb, for Heaven's sake
They're just Booey Bats by the banks on the back of the beautiful CLAREMORE LAKE!"
Don't like those Booey Bats by the banks on the back of the beautiful CLAREMORE LAKE!"
