Before the Cross and empty tomb,
before salvation’s victory song,
God prepared a humble Virgin
through whom the Savior would come.
The eternal Word took flesh within her,
by the power of Heaven above;
and through her faithful “yes” to God,
the world received redeeming Love.
The angel called her “full of grace,”
blessed among all women to be;
and generations now proclaim her blessed,
just as Scripture said faithfully.
If Christ our Lord had not come through her,
how lost the world would still remain;
for through the womb of holy Mary
the Savior entered human pain.
(Pre-Chorus)
She never sought her own glory,
nor claimed the worship due to God;
her soul forever points to Jesus:
“Do whatever He has taught.”
(Chorus)
O Mary, Mother of the Savior,
Mother of all redeemed by grace;
you gave the world the Son of Heaven
who came our fallen souls to save.
And as you gave us Christ our Savior,
you still lead hearts unto your Son;
for every soul that walks beside you
is guided to the Holy One.
We honor you because God honored you,
as Scripture openly proclaims;
“All generations shall call me blessed,”
forever magnifying your name.
Not worship, but the love of children
for the Mother Christ has given;
for from the Cross He spoke to His people:
“Behold your mother” from Heaven.
At Calvary beneath the darkness,
the Lamb of God was lifted high;
and Jesus, seeing His beloved disciple,
spoke with mercy before He died:
“Woman, behold your son,” He told her;
then to the disciple lovingly:
“Behold your mother.”
And from that hour, she was received faithfully.
The Church is Christ’s own sacred Body,
joined to Him eternally;
and if the Son is truly ours,
His Mother shares spiritually.
Revelation shows the Woman
clothed with Heaven’s holy light;
whose children keep God’s commandments
and bear true witness unto Christ.
(Pre-Chorus)
From Eden’s promise long ago,
the serpent learned to fear her name;
for through her came the promised Savior
who crushed the kingdom born of shame.
(Bridge)
Why do many reject and mock her,
if all she does is lead to Christ?
Because the ancient serpent hated
the Woman chosen from all time.
Satan trembles at her obedience,
at the humble servant of the Lord;
for through her came the King eternal
who shattered death forevermore.
Yet every faithful heart that loves her
does not turn away from God;
for Mary’s hands never keep souls for herself —
she always leads us to the Cross.
(Final Chorus)
O Mary, Mother of the Savior,
Mother given to us in love;
pray that we may follow Jesus
faithfully until Heaven above.
Teach us to trust as you trusted,
to obey the Father’s holy Word;
and lead us always to your Son,
our only Savior and our Lord.
All generations shall proclaim you blessed,
just as the Spirit testified;
for through your faithful “yes” to Heaven,
the Light of Christ came into our lives.
