“Then David said, ‘How can the ark of the Lord come to me?’”
“And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?”
Verse 1
In the days of old Israel,
God gave a holy sign;
a sacred Ark was fashioned
by His own design.
It held the Law He gave them,
the manna from above,
and Aaron’s priestly staff,
a witness of His love.
The Ark revealed God’s presence
among His chosen race;
a holy dwelling fashioned
for His abundant grace.
Yet all these sacred mysteries
were shadows yet to be;
preparing for the fullness
of God’s great victory.
Pre-Chorus
What once was only promised
would now be fully known;
the Lord would come among us
and claim us as His own.
Chorus
Ark of the New Covenant,
chosen by God’s plan;
you carried Christ the Savior,
the Word made flesh for man.
Blessed among all women,
the dwelling place of God;
the Lord of all creation
was sheltered in your embrace.
Verse 2
When Mary journeyed onward
through Judah’s hill country,
Elizabeth cried out with joy
at Heaven’s mystery.
“Why should the Mother of my Lord
come here to visit me?”
The words echoed David’s question
for all eternity.
David danced before the Ark
with gladness in his heart;
John leaped within the womb
when Mary drew near.
The Ark remained three months,
bringing blessings from above;
Mary stayed three months as well,
bearing God’s perfect love.
Pre-Chorus
These signs were not accidental,
the Spirit made them clear;
the New Ark stood before them,
for God Himself was near.
Chorus
Ark of the New Covenant,
chosen by God’s plan;
you carried Christ the Savior,
the Word made flesh for man.
Blessed among all women,
the dwelling place of God;
the Lord of all creation
was sheltered in your embrace.
Bridge
The Ark once held the manna,
the bread from Heaven sent;
Mary carried Jesus,
the Bread of Life sent from above.
The Ark once held God’s Law,
engraved on stone by grace;
Mary carried Christ, the Living Word,
who came to save the human race.
The Ark once held the priestly rod,
a sign of God’s command;
Mary carried Christ the High Priest,
Redeemer of every land.
Final Chorus
Ark of the New Covenant,
a sign of God’s great love;
prepared through generations
by the Father above.
Blessed among all women,
all generations proclaim;
the wonders of God’s mercy
and the glory of His Name.
You carried Christ our Savior,
the King upon His throne;
and every grace points finally
to Jesus Christ alone.
“Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.”
