Jesus With Skin On

In this world that is hurting and broken

We need a hand we can reach out and touch

We look for words that are yet to be spoken

That the Savior loves us so much

We read the words that are written in red

And hear the stories from long long ago

We hear sermons that keep us all fed

But the words need a love we can show

I want to be Jesus with skin on

A loving reflection of His grace

A comfort to hold in the shadows

A smile on a beautiful face

I want to carry His peace in the chaos

And love like He did from the start

Lord make me Jesus with skin on

To comfort each hurting and broken heart

I want to notice the lonely and pray for their pain

To be His own hands and His feet

To stand with the weary out in the rain

And show compassion to those on the street

I want to be Jesus with skin on
