Healing in the Hurting

Like a broken bone that gets stronger as it heals

As I trust Him in my brokenness,

His strength will be revealed.

I need not carry every heavy load alone

Now I’m laying down my guard

that I thought was all my own

'Cause there’s healing in the hurting when I finally let it go

He takes away my weakness just to let His power show

I don't have to walk the valley by myself anymore

Because the Lord is stepping in

My life He will restore

The confusion in my head

is clearing out today

Like a gentle wind from Heaven blowing all the clouds away

I’m giving Him the anxious thoughts that kept me up so late

Trading my own failing strength

for peace inside the gate

The deepest kind of sorrow takes some time to roll on by

But God will send some faithful friends to lift my spirits high

I'm never on my own when I'm crying in the dark

He will replace my brokenness and leave a holy mark

I spent so many days and nights trying to fight the fight alone

Reaching for a lifeline that was purely all my own

But when my hands grew weary

and I finally fell to prayer

I realized the Savior

had been always standing there

Taking all my heavy chains and throwing them away

So I can stand up in His strength and boldly start to say...
