The day started normal as I rose from my bed

Never knowing what all it would bring.

Got all the errands done, paid all the bills

Then came back to go in and sing

Then suddenly I felt it, that too familiar ache

The pain grew more and more severe

I prayed to God to stop the pain

He reminded me of someone who cared

I needed someone to stand in the gap

To intercede in prayer

Someone to stand on my behalf

Someone to pray and to care

To be the bridge between me and God's grace

Focused on my desperation

He chose you to stand in the gap

As you prayed and pleaded for my restoration

Thank you my friend for pleading for me

When I could not pray on my own

God answered your prayers and healed my pain

He literally crushed every stone

You didn't have to stand for me

You don't have to stand for me now

But God sent you my way and my way to you

Forever to Him we will bow

All power and glory we'll lift up to Him
