Shadows of the Cross

Silent shadows fall, the world holds its breath

A story of sacrifice, beyond life and death

Sky turns dark, a hush on the earth

He hangs alone, in pain and worth

Whispers of mercy, tears in the storm

A crown of thorns, a soul so worn

Blood and water flow, tears of the divine

He breathes his last, in that sacred time

A veil torn open, secrets to unbind

Hope rises anew, in faith we find

On Good Friday, freedom’s pain

From the cross, love remains

In the darkness, a promise bright

A resurrected dawn, shining light

Pierced and broken, yet alive,

Through suffering, love will survive

The tomb remains, silent and sealed,

But in the dark, hope is revealed

When morning breaks, the stone rolled away

A new beginning, a brighter day

From shadows to glory, we sing,

Resurrection’s song, our hearts’ spring
