The Day Love Was Crucified

On that day, love was crucified,

History’s heart open wide,

A sacrifice so deep, so true,

For me, for you.

The veil was torn, the earth did shake,

Lightning split the sky, make no mistake,

He bled for us, a love divine,

33 AD, crossing the line.

Eloi, Eloi, the sky showed its pain,

Darkened heavens, tears in rain,

He took the crown, the thorn, the cross,

In that moment, love lost, love’s win was glorious.

It is finished, the door swings wide,

Love’s answer, hope’s new tide,

He bowed his head, laid down his life,

The day love conquered death’s strife.

From Gethsemane’s sweat, to the grave so cold,

His story of love, eternally told,

No chains could hold, no stone could keep,

The love that woke from eternal sleep.

The day they couldn’t kill love,

Echoes of mercy, wings of a dove,

Forever in our hearts, He’s alive,

In His love, we survive.
