Faith in the One

You told me that with the faith of a seed

I could move mountains and settle the sea

But the mountains still standing and the waters are rough

I guess all my faith just wasn’t enough

But when your word is spoken, your word is true

I had too much faith in myself and not You

So help me, O Lord, please hear this one plea

Turn mountains to dust piles and bring peace to my sea

I’ve been climbing and climbing for what feels like years

And I’m really not sure I have anymore tears

But you promised me peace if I rested in you

And well I’ve tried and I’ve tried, so now what do it do

Whenever your word is spoken, your word is true

I’ve had too much faith in myself and not You

I’ve stepped out of the boat into the water below

I thought I could walk, but I can’t even float

Tell me what happened to the promise you made

Because I’m sinking deeper and I need to be saved
