When I did something wrong I looked at the wall and raised my voice with these.
“Thou shall not kill“
“Thou shall not steal”
“Honor your mother and me”
During that time, I would looked to the sky and wonder who I had to thank.
And now I shout “rejoice” as I lift my voice with all the angels and the saints.
I praise a God of miracles
Both in the world and me.
I praise a God unchanging
Who changed how I believe.
I praise a God of love
To whosoever makes a plea.
I praise the God
With footprints in the sea.
Sometimes in church I get the urge
To raise my hands up high.
But then I reconsider because I think such a sinner doesn’t have the right.
But I praise a God of miracles
Both in the world and me.
I praise a God unchanging
Who changed how I believe.
I praise a God of love
To whosoever makes a plea.
I praise the God
With footprints in the sea.
So I lift my hands,
And I raise my voice.
My God deserves rejoice.
So I praise a God of miracles
Both in the world and me.
I praise a God unchanging
Who changed how I believe.
I praise a God of love
To whosoever makes a plea.
I praise the God
With footprints in the sea.
I praise the God
With footprints in the sea.
