I’m lost in the woods.
All I see is trees.
I’m trying to find my way out through the leaves.
Thousands of foot prints embed themselves inside this dirt.
I’ve been walking around and my feet hurt.
Scars have been embedded inside this bark.
Memories of wars past fought.
The particles in the air hold hundreds of thoughts.
So blessed are we in this world of loss
So blessed are we in this world of moss
The damage soaks within the walls of bark
You can’t see the rot through the dark
The moss embedded in the trees has left its mark.
I’ve walked for days all I see is trees.
The trees have died there are no leaves.
The dirt holds memories that feet have stomped
My legs are heavy walking through this swamp.
I can’t find my way for I am lost
My legs grow numb and the trees have grown
I’ve been here for years this is my new home.
My home anew has grown in place of rot
For years I’ve lived inside this house of moss.
So blessed are we in this world of loss.
So blessed are we in this world of moss.
The damage soaks within the walls of bark
You can’t see the rot through the dark.
The moss embedded in the trees has left its mark
My home anew has grown in place of rot
For years I’ve lived inside this house of moss.
