I used to wear my heart on my sleeve
But now I keep it in my pocket
It’s scared and it’s bruised, so now I protect it by keeping it inside my locket
I feel the bruises every time that it beats
Never searching within I never find the things that I need
My hearts in my locket/
My lockets in my pocket/
My heart is buried here/
My bones are no longer singing/
My heart is no longer beating/
For I have died here/
I used to want my love to grow, everywhere is where I planted my seeds
But now my flowers have died and my heart no longer beats
So until I find a place to bury what I once wore on my sleeve I keep my heart in a locket buried deep in my pocket.
My hearts in my locket/
My lockets in my pocket/
My heart is buried here/
My bones are no longer singing/
My heart is no longer beating/
For I have died here/
I feel it clang and I feel it clatter. Like it still wants to beat. Like it’s still not bleeding.
My heart of gold has now lost its shine.
It does not glisten it does not glow.
I miss my heart back when it wasn’t cold but now it’s just for show.
Deep in my pocket/
My heart is buried deep in my pocket/
It no longer sings/
My heart no longer sings/
So I shall forever keep my heart in my locket buried deep in my pocket.
