Remember how we forgot

Remember how we forgot the rain on our faces, the puddles we’d dive in and the moon we were always chasing

Remember how we used to make a mess of our room and when our parents told us to clean it we never did

And while our mothers were shopping we’d find the clothes and hid

Remember when we used to walk the halls of school hoping to find that one friend

Or when we would write our crush a letter over text but were always too afraid to hit send

Just a memory of way back when

Our hearts were so weak and fragile

But even A mouse will get back up if you shove it through the gravel.

Made for us to overcome and forget

Remember when we used to look in the mirror in disgust at our own reflection

Feeling lost not knowing what to do like a phone without reception

Remember-remember because the mirror is what we will conquer

Look into your eyes

It’s where your soul resides

Let it burn and watch the fireworks

Live- live like tomorrow never happens

And today is our last

Forget-forget because this life it moves so fast

We have no time for dwelling in the past
