Summer Heat Blues

Another sweltering day in this southern town,

Sweat's pouring off me, drippin' down, down, down,

Got my cowboy boots and my red flannel shirt,

But down below, there's more than a little discomfort.

The tractor's chugging in the golden fields of wheat,

I'm sittin' high in the saddle, tryin' to stay discreet,

But these summer troubles got me way too hot,

A man's gotta laugh at what he's got.

Summer heat, it's got me beat,

My knickers are soaked right through my seat,

Sweaty testicles, it's my summertime plight,

But I'll bear it all with a smile tonight.

Met a sweet gal down at the corner store,

She laughed and said, "Hey there, what you sweatin' for?"

I told her it's the farm life, long hours in the sun,

She winked and said, "Well ain't we havin' fun?"

Sometimes you gotta find the humor in the grind,

Makin' light of the sticky moments that you find,

This country life is rugged, but it's so damn sweet,

Even when you're suff'rin' from that summer heat.
