To Be A Dog

Ever wondered what it’s like to be a dog, sit, stay, and relax?

I mean, what it’s like to be able to relax all day and just nap?

Have an owner that spoils you with bones merged with toys?

Ears perked and poised

Waiting for that alerting noise

That means your owner’s home?

Let’s take a swan dive

Into a dog’s mind

I’m just a dog sitting and staying

Love the other dogs I’m getting to play with

Seeing a puddle of water, about to take a dunk

After I’m done chasing skunks

Then getting scolded the minute it’s spraying

Don’t worry about tomorrow, I live in today it’s

Great and worry doesn’t get in the way

Can’t talk, but if I could, I’m fixing to say it

Matter of fact, I’ll sing it loud

I just need to shout!

I like dog toys and my owner likes to shop

I’ll nap anywhere, so how about beside this rock

If my owner forgets to take me out, I’ll just bark at the door

Will chase a bear even if it starts with the roar

Garbage is my best friend, and the owner tells me not to dig

I don’t listen, fetched one of my bones, and for later, tossed it in

My owner has a lot of rules and commands, but it’s a lot to get

I just wanna zig zag, run and zoom

Doesn’t my owner have enough to do?
