Creeping through the narrow halls,
Silhouettes fight upon the walls.
Hear those sobs, hear those screams,
If you only knew what these walls have seen.
Broken, beaten, body battered,
Name in blood, across the floor is splattered.
Raise a hand in blind rage,
Trapped like a rat inside a cage.
This is a broken home,
Filled with broken dreams and broken bones,
Hear the sirens as they blare,
See the people that come and stare.
Time to leave the cage behind,
And hope is somewhere for us to find…
How could we let this be the end?
How could we look away and pretend,
Like nothing was bad or ever wrong,
Blast the music, drown pain with songs.
Can’t walk away, or he’ll give you hell.
Drunk again, but who do we tell?
Who do we tell when no one cares?
Where do we run when we get scared?
This is just a broken home,
Filled with broken dreams and broken bones,
Hear the sirens as they blare,
See the people that come and stare.
Time to leave the cage behind,
And hope is somewhere for us to find…
I have grown, can’t take much more,
You raise your hand, this time you’re the one on the floor.
Take that last and final breath
One walks away, and one meets death.
Blood-soaked hands, one is dead,
Broken neck and cracked open head.
You said you’d change, but you always lied
And now you lose both me and your life.
This is just a broken home,
Filled with broken dreams and broken bones,
Hear the sirens as they blare,
See the people that come and stare.
Time to leave the cage behind,
And hope is somewhere for us to find…
