Ink in the dark

World keeps spinning…

I’m trying to read the pages while they turn.

Maybe we’re made of beautiful things

and the things that hurt…

I’m a mama bear, claws out when they need me,

Carry everybody’s weight like it’s easy.

Give me a broken page, I’ll rewrite the ending,

Put a little spell in the ink, leave a life worth remembering.

I see hearts people hide underneath their sleeves,

Plant something good where nobody else sees.

That’s my strength—

I’ll bleed just to make sure you don’t,

Give you every piece of me

even when I know I won’t—

Have enough left for myself.

And that’s where the room starts spinning,

Love too hard, then I overthink.

Anxiety whispers, “What if you lose it?”

While my heart keeps standing on the brink.

My greatest strength

is my weakness too—

I love everybody

like I’ve got something to prove.

Round and round, this world keeps spinning,

We’re both fighting wars nobody’s witnessing.

I’m the ink in the dark,

You’re the light on the page,

Two imperfect souls trying to find our way.

I love too hard,

You carry too much,

I’m scared of losing

what I finally trust.

But if every soul is a story

before their time is through—

I’ll leave my words in everybody…

and they’ll remember the light in you.

I see the man underneath all the pressure,

A heart that could change somebody forever.

You don’t even notice the footprints you leave

in the lives of the people who needed belief.

And when you’re being Dad,

there’s a different kind of glow,

Like everything gets quiet

and your whole heart shows.

You’re stronger than the things

that tried to make you cold.

You’re somebody’s safe place

without even knowing.

But I see your cracks too,

the weight behind your eyes,

How the strongest ones still need

somewhere safe to cry.

You’re not perfect—

neither am I.

Maybe love was never supposed to mean

pretending we’re alright.

My strength is love…

My weakness is love…

Funny how the same damn thing

can save me and destroy me.

Your strength is your heart…

Your weakness is carrying the world…

So when your light gets tired,

baby, give it to me.

I’ll hold it.

Round and round, this world keeps spinning,

But look at all the lives we touched while living.

I’m the ink in the dark,

You’re the light on the page,

Maybe that’s why we found each other this way.

I’ll fight too hard,

You’ll carry too much,

I’ll battle my mind,

You remind me to trust.

And if everybody’s life

is just a story passing through—

I’ll keep writing magic in their pages…

while they keep finding light in you.

Mama bear with an anxious heart…

A man with a light he doesn’t know he has…

Strengths.

His light.
