Peace I Found

Yeah…

She used to cry where nobody could hear her

Broken mirrors, heavy heart

But this the story of how she made it out

Little girl with the weight of the world on her shoulders,

Cold nights made her young soul older,

Every time she spoke, they blamed her pain,

Said “it’s your fault” till it lived in her brain.

Mama screaming through the walls every night,

Daddy gone, so she learned how to fight,

Eyes full of storms, but she smiled in class,

Hoping somehow all the hurt would pass.

She would sit alone staring out the rain,

Thinking maybe she deserved the pain,

Every broken promise cut too deep,

So she made friends with the dark she’d keep.

But nobody knew

How hard she tried

To carry a heart

That was dying inside

She was lost in the shadows, running from herself,

Everybody blamed her for the cards life dealt,

But scars turned to lessons when she finally breathed,

Found peace in her soul when she chose to believe.

Now the tears don’t fall like they used to at night,

She learned broken hearts still deserve the light,

The world said she’d never be enough to survive,

But she found her own peace… and came alive.

Years passed by and the pain stayed close,

Fake love hurt her more than most,

People used her kindness till her heart went numb,

Then judged her for the person she’d become.

She kept hearing voices saying “you’ll never heal,”

So she hid every emotion she could feel,

Built walls so high nobody got through,

Even happiness felt strange and new.

But one night driving with the moon above,

She realized pain ain’t the opposite of love,

And every wound that she survived alone

Was proof her spirit already had grown.

She looked inside

Instead of searching

For peace outside

Found peace in herself and finally walked away,

Now she looks in the mirror and she finally sees

The world didn’t save her…

She saved me.
