He’s learning new ways to shelter his heart. He could have tried harder back there at the start.
All the mistakes that he made this last year, have undoubtedly lead him to being right here.
How can he fix all these feelings of debt, in a world that still needs him hes forced to forget.
He puts it aside, and just keeps on choosing. Not aware of the pieces of soul he’s been losing.
The family, his friends, and everyone else. They don’t know he struggles, and he won’t ask for help.
Friends that he hurt, that still show him love, have given him hope he can still rise above.
One friend specifically has steady remained right
there by his side when his spirit gets drained
He knows that he feels it, and so doesn’t she.
So why can’t he make this small “Me” into “We”?
Most of the time he feels that he longs for her.
But he buries it deep and just writes some songs for her.
She tells him she sees it, the pain that’s inside,
while she sits there so peaceful, her arms open wide.
She’s trying so hard to get him to open, but he leaves her alone with her, only hoping.
Does this make him selfish, conceded, or mean? because deep down inside all he does is just scream.
He sees what she’s doing, he feels her attention. But he breaks down as soon as the word love gets mentioned.
A lot of the days, he runs from his past cause hes scared that the feelings of love just won’t last. Success seems so distant and failure seems close. He wants to be happy and healthy the most.
It doesn’t seem normal, the way that he feels. Like the cart has tipped over right off of its wheels.
But if he keeps trying, the good days will come. He might start to smile and even have fun.
He yearns for a life where nothing is certain, where he’s brave enough to pull back life’s curtain.
it might be more failure, or sadness, and pain. It might leave a scar, or a permanent stain.
He’s trying to do it, he’s starting from scratch. He’s burning his old life right down with a match.
Stronger and stronger he feels himself growing. He’s getting more used to the feelings he’s showing.
Stay on the road, keep the wheels in the dirt. Just keep moving forward, in spite of the hurt.
Someday, by the beach, he’ll open his eyes. These feelings he feels will be no surprise. He’ll be stronger than ever, a man that’s complete. a man that is willing to follow his feet.
A journey that started a year ago June will hopefully get a lot easier soon. He’s getting so strong that he sees a new life. One without struggle, or worry, or strife.
He’s started to love the man that he sees, a man who’s finally up off of his knees. With hope in his heart, and the sun and the moon, he sees that his journey gets easier soon.
With all of the trouble he’s faced in the past, he sees the end coming, and it’s happening fast.
So take it all in and give yourself grace, and let your feet take you all over the place. Be patient, be kind, and just let things go. Be strong to say yes, and even more to say no.
