Unwanted Notifications

Tossing and turning getting that urge,

Every time my screen lights up wanting it to be her Little vibration got me looking real quick, Then I see what it is and I’m, “[Sigh], not this shit.”

I’m Not even mad, I’m just numb to it now and put it down, Give it five more minutes, and I’m probably check it back out

’Cause eventually your name might show up on the screen, cuz that little notification does something different for me

It’s four in the morning I should probably go to sleep But I got too many random thoughts keeping me company

Phone lights up from somewhere on my table suddenly, I reach over thinking maybe you remembered me, Nope.

Some random app telling me something I don’t need but I’m still checking

Maybe you’re awake too,

Maybe you’re staring at your phone thinking what you should do

Maybe you type something out, delete it, then repeat it, Meanwhile I’m over here like,

“Just text me already.”

It doesn’t gotta be serious

Doesn’t need some deeper meaning

Then I’m thinking, “Hold on, give it a minute.” Everybody plays that little game that replying too fast somehow gives something away
