Captain Ben

Oh here is the shanty of Captain Ole Ben and his deep sea adventure!

One sunny summer day Captain Ben and his crew get ready to set sail, his lass by his side, his pole in his hand. They board the SS Horny Toucan and get ready to raise anchor.

Captain Ben’s lass warns him, “Oh Captain Ben the seas be a rough today, take ye some Dramamine please oh please!”

Captain Ben says “Nay, I be a captain of a real ship. The seas can’t shake me!”

10 minutes out to see the SS Horny Toucan gets to rocking with the waves only 2 feet tall, and a black cloud shrouds ole captain Ben.

Captain Ben heeds to his lass, “Turn this ship around! I miss me nice dry land and feel me tummy a churnin!”

His lass warns him that they can’t just turn the ship around; for it would forfeit the entire adventure if they did!

Captain Ben told his lass there was no other option, for if he continued on the adventure he would be dead for certain!

The ship did so turn around and head back to port, and once on land again Captain Ben laughed and said, thank ye for my great 20 minutes deep sea adventure, but damned you’ll be to see the day, that Captain Ben sails again!

Captain Ben, such a sorrow story, lost his lass that very day. Never to fear, said Captain Ben, for my Bonnie lass Big liz the whale waits for my return, in the sweet dry land of ellerslie!
