Our Sympathetic High Priest

Jesus, our High Priest so sympathetic and true,
Understands weaknesses that we all go through.
From heaven's glory to earth's humble road,
He left it all to bear our heavy load.

With compassion deep for the crushed reed so frail,
He heals the broken, makes the hopeless prevail.
No smoldering wick does he snuff out in spite,
But fans the flame into Jehovah's pure light.
