Ben had a Chevy with a bench seat wide,
Amber by his side, small town pride.
Took her fishin’ down at Miller’s Lake,
Sunday drives and fairground dates.
He bought her boots, she wore his hat,
He thought, “Lord, it don’t get better than that.”
But there she was, aisle nine, standin’ close,
Laughin’ too sweet at some fella in work clothes.
Ben dropped the milk, heart cracked in two,
Right there by the shampoo and barbecue.
He gave her his world, thought he was her man,
But Amber had another at the checkout stand.
And it all fell apart…
When he found out at Walmart.
She said she loved him, wrote it in a note,
Left in the dash of his old red boat.
He played her songs on that porch swing,
Even planned out a diamond ring.
But the truth hit harder than a freight train horn,
With that rollin’ cart and a heart all torn.
’Cause there she was, pickin’ out pie,
Givin’ bedroom eyes to some other guy.
Ben dropped his jaw, couldn’t believe,
That the girl he loved wore lies on her sleeve.
He gave her his time, his gas, his hand…
But Amber had another in the soda can stand.
And it all fell apart…
When he found out at Walmart.
He don’t drive past that store no more,
Takes the long way home to settle the score.
But a man learns quick when love turns sour,
Even aisle lights can lose their power.
Yeah, there she was, like a sweet mirage,
Smilin’ at a man in camo and Crocs.
Ben turned away, let the heartbreak start,
Left his buggy and his broken heart.
He gave her his soul, she played her hand…
While meetin’ other cowboys in the snack food land.
It all fell apart…
When he found out at Walmart.
So if love feels true, don’t push that cart too far…
Some folks ain’t loyal past the Walmart parking lot stars.
