Zona vs Suno
Looking for a Suno alternative?
Suno is the larger, better-known product and its free tier lets you make songs without paying anything. Zona is the better fit if you want to work on a phone, keep unlimited downloads of what you make, and pay less than five dollars a month to do it. If you generate hundreds of songs a month, Suno Pro is cheaper per song than any Zona plan.
When Suno is the better choice
- You want to try an AI song generator without paying: Suno gives 50 credits a day (about 10 songs) on a free account, where Zona requires a subscription to create on the web.
- You generate at high volume. Suno Pro is $8/month for up to 500 songs, which no Zona plan matches on songs-per-dollar.
- You want the biggest community and the most third-party tutorials, which is simply a function of being the market leader.
When Zona is the better choice
- You want to make songs on your phone. Zona is an iOS and Android app first, with the web as a companion.
- You want to keep what you make. From 3 September 2026 Suno caps downloads at 20/month on Pro and 60/month on Premier; Zona does not cap downloads.
- You want to spend as little as possible: $4.17/month billed yearly at $49.99.
- You want stem separation, lossless WAV export and karaoke-timed lyrics at all: all three are subscriber features on Zona, with karaoke included and the two exports charged in credits (6 for stems, 5 for a WAV).
