How do people try to act like stone,
Or never understand things that are told.
Too scared to just be bold,
So afraid that the world will some day just fold.
Cold, just wished like I could just turn cold,
Like everything that's makes a person decent has all been sold...
 Whatever happened to speaking your truth,
Not taking abuse or getting used.
Whatever happened to caring about someone other then yourself,
Instead of putting yourself up on a higher shelf.
Cold, has every single person gone mad,
Gone to hell, the whole world has gotten so bad.
How do you switch your emotions off,
Maybe my heart is just too damn soft.
How do you go from someone meaning so much,
To hardly getting to feel their touch.
Always longing for the next time,
Of any connection of any kind.
Always feeling alone,
Maybe it would be better to just turn cold.
It seems to work for everyone else,
But how to be like that and still stay myself.
