The Fatigue of New Beginnings

Waking up, it's a brand new day

But my energy's gone away

The weight of the world on my back

Trying to keep on, but I can't keep track

First day on the job, feeling so new

Every step I take, got something to prove

Heart's pounding fast, mind in a haze

Long hours spent in a daze

And I wonder, how long can I last?

Running on empty, caught in the past

Every moment, drained and worn

Waiting for the tiredness to be gone

I'm so tired, dripping from my soul

Never felt this way before

Body's aching, mind's on a wire

Fighting not to expire

Lunch breaks are brief, naps are dreams

Trying to find some space in my seams

Laughs are faint, energy's thin

Battling the fatigue within

And I wonder, how long can I last?
