I Like

In the mirror of my past, I see a tangled thread
A tapestry of choices, where shadows often spread.  
A lifetime of decisions, some heavy with regret,  
Often letting others down, a weight I can’t forget.  

Always tried fixing souls - I wore that heavy crown,  
While lifting all the others up, I often let me down.  
I lost myself in chaos, and sometimes lived in shame.
Yet deep within my heart I took a spark and made a flame.  

Through trials and some heartache, I learned to stand my ground,  
To recognize my value, I turned focus back around
With intelligence and morals, my stars began to shine,
And step by step, each passing day, I claimed this life as mine.
I’m talented and driven, have passion when I speak. 
I stand strong in my convictions – I am done with being weak.
An empath as a rule, using patience as my guide,  
Forgiveness flows like rivers, like the love I hold inside.
With random acts of kindness that I sprinkle like the rain,  
Through introspective self review I’ve found my own refrain.  

Internal growth continues and I love my thriving soul,  
I cherish every flaw, as they make my spirit whole.  
Now I stand in brilliance, with pride I can proclaim,  
I love my independence, and I’ll never take false blame.  
For in this journey’s winding path, I’ve found my truest worth,  
A beacon of compassion, a light upon this earth.
