One Week

I’m gonna take my chair

Put it here in the sand

And just stare at the ocean

With a cold drink in my hand

I’m gonna kick way back

And try to clear my head

Gonna bake in that sun

Until I’m lobster red

While I’m sittin’ here

I ain’t punchin’ no clock

Ain’t wearin’ no suit

And no shoes or socks

Gonna keep on chillin’

With a Caribbean buzz

From an umbrella drink

And some bottles of suds

I’ve got one week to recuperate

From that 9 to 5 grind

I’ll forget all about schedules

Livin’ on that island time

I’ve got one week to recharge

From those conference calls

All the bosses emails

And my cubicle’s four walls

I’ve only got one week…

But that week is all mine

I got no where to go

An all the time in the world

Sittin’ here in paradise

Surrounded by suntanned girls

It’d be so hard to pick one

In the setting sun’s light

But I think I might try

So we can dance through the night
