Shadows of the Past

Silent shadows, haunted nights

Lost in echoes, endless fights

Trying to find some peace of mind

In a world that’s unkind

Fifteen years, I hid the pain

Locked within, a frozen chain

Went through storms I can’t explain

Bringing tears like pouring rain

They don’t see the scars I wear

Hidden deep, I’m barely there

Lost in memories and fear

Wishing that I could disappear

Trauma’s shadow that won’t hide

Every touch, a fleeting threat

A lifelong struggle I can’t forget

Halloween, the night so long

Met my sister, right or wrong?

Felt the past rush like the storm

Hearts united in the form

But silence broke my calming guise

A simple touch, a surprise

In a flash, I lose control

Hurting her, my broken soul

Oh, I still fight the ghost inside
