Hush now child just why are you crying?

Is it maybe because your husband is dying?

Could the cause of your broken heart possibly be

A sad lonely future? Is that what you see?

Think of his torment, and what’s gone awry?

All fear and suffering end when we die.

The angel who passes feels no more pain.

Yet tears will be shed again and again.

Understand we don’t cry for the loved one who left…

We cry for ourselves as we feel so bereft.

The anguish we feel when a loved one has passed

Sadly, in some form, always will last.

Lamenting so many unfulfilled dreams…

You laugh when you think of your last, stupid fight.

Aftershave on his pillow – the fragrance lasts long.

Often the radio plays his favorite song.

You see his smile on your child’s face

The way he wrote letters – there’s always a trace!

The love that you feel so deep in your heart

Will forever remain even when you're apart.

You cannot erase a love that is true…
