Long ago in a cave so deep
They drew with fire and rocks in sleep
Buffalos danced in lines of red
A world of stories where colors led
On pyramids in desert gold
They painted gods and tales of old
With lotus lines and royal face
Art was sacred full of grace
In temples high with marble bright
They shaped the world with balanced light
They painted myths and strong brave men
Art found harmony back then
Darkened halls with shining light
Painted saints in golden night
Stories told in every frame
To teach and guide in holy name
Then came colors bold and wide
Da Vinci’s dreams and Mona’s pride
Perspective rose and shadows played
A brand new world the brush portrayed
A garden breeze a dancing hue
Quick little strokes and skies of blue
They painted light not things exact
A feeling soft a heart intact
Now shapes are wild and thoughts are free
A yellow square a flying tree
From dreams to dots and melting clocks
Art broke the rules and shook the box
Now here we are it’s me and you
With paint and brush we journey through
Each color sings each stroke is true
The world needs artists just like you
