[Verse 1]
Used to shoot baskets for days.
Would be real (active and play),
Back in the day,
Almost any sport.
Compliments on my hustle I’d be (fishing for).
But it seems these days the exercise fuse is loose.
Practicing drills and too many pick up games to (abuse the hoops).
Three four hours constantly.
Youth you ought to be
(Bottling)
And savoring and enjoying it while it lasts.
I miss the days when I didn’t (tire fast).
Used to be ten games of one V ones was hopeful.
Five V five pick up run, (young and mobile).
It’s facts, an admired cast.
Now I just sit (back and admire that).
To be young again would be nice.
Skip all academics, accept English, and go to (gym twice)
[Chorus]
I’m getting older now.
It is what it is you see.
I’m getting older now.
Promise it ain’t for the weak.
Getting older.
G-g-g-getting older.
Getting older now.
Losing mobility in these knees.
[Verse 2]
Use to walk three miles gave that walk slash run all the work.
Now I can barely walk a hundred feet, it’s all a blur.
(Nah I’m getting a ride, have to find my brother’s contact and call him first)
There was a time I could run in a football game no problem.
Could play all (day no bother).
Catch a ball with ease.
(Touchdown! Back up off of me!)
(Chorus)
I’m getting older now.
It is what it is you see.
I’m getting older now.
Promise it ain’t for the weak.
Getting older.
G-g-g-getting older.
Getting older now.
Losing mobility in these knees.
[Verse 3]
I’d play any sport you could think of it was awesome.
Now more than one sport is mission impossible.
Just sit and applaud.
While someone else puts a back (spin on the ball).
Knees and joints are now different is all.
Basketball, softball, soccer to be named.
Catch an out ball to get you (off of the plate).
Even the ins and outs of ping pong I was on the brink of getting lost in it’s great.
Now one active sport and maybe some horseshoes seeing it (tossed in the space)
Getting older is not for the faint of heart.
Have to come to grips with the fact that age (plays a part).
