But God

God, things are hard,
Right now it’s dark, 
Life is difficult to manage.
The road I’m on is blocked by uncertainty.
God, please strengthen me as I continue on this journey I’m on. 
I feel anything but strong.

But God! 
But God has gotten me through in past days of darkness,
When the road seemed hopeless,
When my pain seemed more than I could bear,
The struggle was real,
But God! 
But God You got me through,
You met my needs,
comforted me.
Till the storm clouds passed.
And the light took away all the shadows.

God, my heart aches deep,
So deep it’s hard to see,
An end to this painful journey.
I’m in a never ending desert,
so tired and thirsty.
God, I’m looking to you,
 through this endless exhaustion.


But God!
