Prompt / Lyrics
(Verse 1) The early bird woke up at six, said “Wow, what a delight!” Snatched a worm, did a little dance, “I love this morning life!” Meanwhile I hit snooze again, my dreams were going strong… Woke up at noon and whispered, “Well… guess everything went wrong.” (Chorus) The early bird gets the worm, yeah that’s what they all say, But the late duck waddles in like “Guess I’ll starve today…” And the lizard without sleep, with eyes like open doors, Is counting way too many sheep… like 10,000 or more 🐑 (Verse 2) The duck said “Quack, I overslept, my alarm just didn’t ring!” Now all the snacks are gone and I’m emotionally buffering…” He checked the pond, he checked the bread, he checked behind a log— Found nothing but his dignity… and a slightly judging frog 🐸 (Chorus) The early bird gets the worm, living life on track, The late duck’s just googling “How to get your breakfast back?” And the lizard without sleep is staring at the sky, Counting sheep that jump the moon and honestly—so am I. (Bridge) One sheep, two sheep, three sheep, WAIT— Why’s that one wearing roller skates?! Four sheep, five sheep, existential dread— “Should’ve just stayed in bed…” he said. (Final Chorus) The early bird gets the worm, fine, we get the deal, But mornings feel illegal and I refuse to feel. The late duck’s out of luck but still vibing in despair, And the lizard’s counting sheep like “WHY ARE THEY EVERYWHERE?!” (Outro) So if you wake up early—cool, go chase your wormy dream… But I’ll be with the duck and lizard… Running late… and screaming 😄🎵
