Prompt / Lyrics
Compliment strangers, offer a hand, do things to make others smile… But most of all, keep your convictions true, push your heart that extra mile. As a man, how often do you feel a tear roll down your cheek? Is it sadness causing emotional pain so comfort is what you seek? Or happy tears - Joy so profound you can’t hold emotions back? Perhaps you find you never cry - sensitivity seems to lack. I have found that many men DO cry. Some Often, some much less. Yet still today male tears are judged as flaws and flaws they can't address. But I wholeheartedly disagree! I find men who do shed tears Exhibit Love and understanding with a strength beyond their years. The Stark opposite of weakness, it shows courage within their soul And frankly, while I raised my boys, that was a significant goal. I stressed all emotions are valid - keep the desire to open their heart Whether sad or happy or angry… even bitterness plays a part… If emotions are always hidden - if you can't share how you feel, How will anyone understand your heart when your words are truly real? If your attitude is fake because your feelings are shoved deep down inside, Truth and love can't grow in your heart - only frustrations will reside. So Compliment strangers, offer a hand, do things to make others smile… But most of all, keep your convictions true, push your heart that extra mile. But most of all don't be afraid to show ALL emotions whenever you can... You don’t get a chance to live this life over – so cry! Even if you're a man!!
