I knew I had it somewhere

Though it’s temporarily lost…

Been searching, unrelenting

Regardless of the cost.

I disassembled every room.

Flipped the mattress off the bed…

Read my intimate daily journals

Auditing my head.

Although I only found it

Rather late in life,

I sidestepped negativity

And learn to conquer strife.

It multiplied my confidence!

Made me creative and unique!

Healed wounds that seem to linger…

Kept my heart from being weak.

My voice found open channels

Radiating spirit, warmth and wit.

Without fear, I spoke what's on my mind

Eager to squabble for a bit.

Laughter oozed my every pore -

Suppressing more somber ideas.

Positivity builds on a positive aura

Passion ardently heals.

It couldn’t have possibly wandered

Awfully far away.

I’ve kept it with me daily –

Long before today.

I’ll continue searching corners

Of my heart, soul and mind…

I’ll push forward, fully committed

Until I ultimately find…
