By Israel's power Cyrus conquered Babylon.
God of Abraham said to Israel In repentance and rest is your salvation,
in quietness and trust is your strength
Cyrus the Anointed
A crown of stars, a heart of flame,
From Persia’s heights, King Cyrus came.
Not for gold, nor pride of throne,
But to fulfill a will unknown.
He broke the gates of Babylon wide,
Not with wrath, but Heaven as guide.
A shepherd king with purpose deep,
To stir the stones where Zion weeps.
Isaiah spoke his name before
He ever walked through history’s door.
“Anointed one,” the scrolls declare—
Though foreign-born, God’s hand was there.
He freed the captives with royal decree,
"Go, rebuild—your God is free!"
The temple rose from ash and dust,
Because one man chose truth and trust.
No idols carved his path ahead,
But visions in the night instead.
A king of justice, bold yet mild,
A ruler… yet a chosen child.
So let the ages speak his name,
Not just for conquest, land, or fame—
But for a heart that heard God’s call,
And dared to lift the least of all.
