Pilate's gaze, caught in a haze

Trying to find peace, in the chaos and the chase

They cry out for blood, their voices like flood

Can’t hear the truth, lost in the fear and the proof

Crucify, oh, the guilt and the pain

Free Barabbas, while Jesus bears the shame

Silent in the storm, justice sways, conformed

Turning away, from the mercy we mourn

A man in chains, with a silent grace

A broken crown, a suffering face

Can we still see, beyond the fury?

In the shadows of that story
