Shadows of My Shadow

Echoes in the night, shadows on the wall

Fighting with my demons, trying not to fall

I've been running from myself, racing through the dark

Lost inside these feelings, drowning in my heart

Every sip, a distraction, trying to numb the pain

But I wake up to the silence, haunted once again

Hate surrounds me, fighting to redefine

Searching for salvation, a peace I cannot find

Caught in a cycle, can't escape this night

Fighting all these fights within, losing the light

Bottle's my refuge, but it only drags me down

Laughing at my sorrow, wearing a faded crown

Fallen on my knees, begging for release

Hoping someday, I find my peace

Till then, I drown, I hide, I flee

From the shadows of what I used to be

Running from myself, I need to find my way

Break these chains of sorrow and yesterday

Light up the darkness, let a new day start
