They say I am a wee little man
that a wee little man am I
That I followed Jesus wherever he went
But the crowds they were too high
So I climbed up in a Sycamore tree
For the Lord I wanted to see
Then Jesus saw me sittin up there
And he asked to come over to eat
Well, that’s the story you hear
Sunday school tells you I’m short
But there’s more, much more to my story
I had been a very bad man
And Jesus showed me his glory
I had stolen money for years
Taken taxes from my people
When I looked into his eyes
My eyes were sad and tearful
because I saw a man of God
No sin was in his face
I felt as if I was looking to heaven
Holy was that place
So though I’m short
And though I’m bad
The sins I’ve done would make you sad
I now have joy
within my heart
For He gave me a brand new start
My name’s Zacchaeus
I’m standing tall
No more dishonor
to god in store
I will remember
that fateful day
when I saw jesus
And he took my sins away
