I still remember that first ride home,

Tiny paws shakin’ in the passenger seat alone,

Two months old with those big brown eyes,

Didn’t know then you’d change my life.

Chewed-up boots and midnight cries,

Pee stains on the floor and sleepless nights,

But every mess and every scar,

Just made this house feel more like ours.

But you were there through highs and lows,

A little heartbeat growin’ beside me slow…

From that tiny pup that could barely climb
