this oilfield country song is number twelve it’s gonna be about all the hell and good times I been through in the p an a division when I left trans ocean in the deepwater division it was cause my brother Tim burns a very well known name in this p an a industry everyone who I came in contact with in offices and way out in the damn ocean always ask me the same damn question an the question was are you Tim burns little brother or they would jus say you must or gotta be kin to Tim burns cause y’all look just alike but he just has a few extra pounds so I just kinda grin an say hell yeah cause I couldn’t lie about it but I wouldn’t lie about it anyways cause all I’ve heard is good things an he’s one of the best so when I came to p an a I work for express they hired me as a pump operator had 10 years in drilling but didn’t know shit about this type work and I can remember one of the first times they was ready to trip pipe an I was just there in a daze thinking to myself so I asked a question it was how we gonna pick up pipe with these elevators with out no bails or top drive or draw works and there reply was with these elevators attached to the damn crane felt stupid but was thinking to myself what the fuck so I kinda had a little leverage cause my high profile brother Tim burns was well know kinda got thrown to the wolves so I had to learn quick caught a few jobs then got on my brothers crew did sub sea work for about a year and a half or hell might have even been two years so really didn’t learn much at the time didn’t really give a fuck I was making a check then as time progressed got to wear I was really trying then I was always overlooked so I lost confidence in myself an just felt like maybe it wasn’t meant to be then I got really good at what I do then left express and went to tetra they hired me as a junior supervisor sent me on a jab job with two senior supervisors one had to go in cause an emergency and when we went to one crew the company man Roy didn’t like the other supervisor keep in mind they was supposed to helping me learn all the paperwork and all that other computer shit but there I was figuring it out on my own that’s where I meet Gerald he was about 21 and already had 8 babies I don’t think Joe bob was even out of diapers yet still eating bananas and green beans out them little bitty baby jars back to my story I got the job done was headed in an got some bad news so I gave the paperwork to one of the guys that lived right by the tetra office an headed back to Mississippi cause it was late the office wasn’t even close to being open then got a phone call it was the opps manager asked where is the paperwork told him they brought it in an my wife was diagnosed with cancer he said he don’t give a shit that paperwork comes first I don’t know about you but my family comes first his name was grant Barnes so I left an went into safety anyways all I’m trying to say is I earned my stripes and that’s how I’m end this country oilfield Song
