Another oilfield song number 17 to be exact Working offshore ain’t as easy as it seems because even when your at or not at work you have a lot of expectations like keeping up things that gotta be done like keeping up with bills and all the things around the house like cutting the grass and all the yard work even things around your parents house cause you know it would be a big help cause they are getting older an they can’t do the things they use to do or like weddings or anniversaries or working on your kids cars that are having problems not to mention all the things you could miss out on all depends on how it all falls you could miss spending time with the grandbabies and kids and things like parents and grandparents day baseball games and graduations , proms and high school dances , and awards days things that mean so much to them babies not to mention birth or birthdays everybody knows Gerald has a lot of them or any of the holidays it’s hard cause you never know if it could be the last time an one of the thing we hate the most when one of our family members get sick or god forbid even have a death that’s not a call you wanna get when your working offshore or anytime really but I just want to touch on this for a minute I lost I grandpa Carl jus a few months ago wish I would have spent more time with him I was either at work or just took for granted he would always be here cause he was a strong man but not knowing god was ready for him went ahead and took him home and when when my buddy Joe bob got that call I felt his pain so I tried to talk and comfort him as best as I could cause that’s what real friends do and that’s why I will never take anything for granted again cause nobody is promised tomorrow so I try to see or at least tell them I love them trust me it’s better than having that regret always on your heart so try to spend as much time as you can with your family’s not just on the holidays trust me you won’t regret it out here in the oilfield we have no choice when we signed up for this job we signed half of our time an life away with this career the money really ain’t worth it but it’s the road we chose and that’s how I’m going to end this Robert burn’s oilfield country song I’m gonna dedicate this song to my grandpa Carl and my oilfield brother yeah the one with two first names Joe bobs mom may there souls rest in peace I know they up there in heaven looking smiling and watching over us hell might even be dancing to this country song
