Have We Lost Our Way?
Have we lost our way in the shadows of greed,
Where compassion is buried, and love takes a backseat?
In the hustle for profit, do we silence the cries,
Of those cast aside, beneath cold, indifferent skies?
Is the warmth of connection replaced by the chase,
As we scroll through our screens, ignoring each face?
Have we traded our kindness for likes and for shares,
While the hearts of the lonely break under our stares?
What of the children, who dream in despair,
As the world spins on, too busy to care?
Do we see their potential, or just see their plight,
As they wander through darkness, searching for light?
In the rush of our lives, do we pause to reflect,
On the impact we make, on the lives we affect?
Have we built walls around us, forgetting the cost,
Of a world that is fractured, of hope that is lost?
Can we hear the stories of those who are torn,
By the weight of injustice, by the pain they have worn?
Are we willing to listen, to stand and to fight,
For a future where love can reclaim the night?
Will we choose to rise up, to mend what is broken,
To speak for the voiceless, to share every token,
Of our human connection, our shared beating hearts,
And strive for a world where compassion imparts?
So, have we lost our way, or is there still hope,
In the strength of our unity, in our will to cope?
Can we forge a new path, hand in hand, side by side,
And rediscover the love that can no longer hide?
