In the twilight of early dawn my soul is drawn
To the mountain's height where I was born,
And I got a favourite stone
where I sit and look over the fields of corn
And watch the sun being born
At dusk I go down to the river banks
Where the fresh water becomes salty
Where the river meets the sea,
And I've got a favourite tree
Where I sit and soak my feet,
While I listen to the birds singing to me,
And it doesn't take much to please a man
Who can reach out his hand
and feel his connection to the land,
Nothing makes a man's heart expand
Like his love for the motherland,
Come rain or shine this heart of mine
Is nurtured by this natural time
Come the storm or come the sign
This heart of mine
will guide me on down the line,
