Football hero

I was no great athlete

But I sure loved to play

Just like all my childhood friends

We played most every day

When I was just ten years old

I went out for the team

I was drafted by the wildcats

For me it was a dream

I got to play halfback

Cause I was really fast

I got to run the football

And go out for a pass

But there’s on time I remember

In my football career

They printed on the sports page

The story goes like this here

The first game of the season

The first play of the year

I ran for a touchdown

I remember it very clear

But that’s only half the story

I did the same thing the next year

Now if that’s not a record

I don’t know what is

I was no sports hero

But I always played my best

Didn’t set any records

Except one I can’t forget

First game first play touchdown

Two years in a row
