The Path Back to You

Nay Nay, I still see your face when I close my eyes,

Even through the tears, even through the lies.

We had something beautiful, then it slipped away,

Now I’m talking to God at the end of every day.

I don’t know where we went wrong,

I just know the pain stayed strong.

But somewhere underneath this broken heart,

I believe God can show us where to start.

I’ve been walking through the dark,

Trying to find where You are.

Lord, if love is meant to stay,

Show me how to love the right way.

Nay Nay, I’m still trying to find my way,

Through the heartbreak, through the mistakes.

I’m asking God to guide my heart,

To heal the places that fell apart.

If I’m gonna love you, let me learn to love You first,

Let Your light heal all this hurt.

I’ll follow God and let Him lead.

Sometimes love feels like a prayer with no reply,

Sometimes you gotta let go just to understand why.

I wanted you so bad, I forgot to look above,

Forgot that God is where I’m supposed to learn real love.

But I’ll give my heart to God through it all.

And if He brings me back to you someday,

I’ll come with a heart that knows how to stay.

Maybe heartbreak was a lesson,

Maybe pain was part of the plan.

Maybe God had to break me

So He could make me who I am.

I hope you feel this prayer:

I’m not asking God to give me you—

I’m asking Him to make my love true.

One prayer, one step, one day.

If loving you means loving God first,

Then I’ll trust Him with my heart and all this hurt.

And if our paths cross again,

I’ll know it wasn’t by chance.

But until that day, Lord, hold my heart,

Teach me how to love without falling apart.
